SURFACE VIEW

prada's superficial new venture

Artfully marrying commercialism with creativity, Prada's Parisian pop-up store has a stunning trompe loeil facade inspired by the Mirabeu bridge, the first in the French capital to be built of metal. Architect Roberto Baciocchi has seamlessly melded the interior and exterior of the store by using murals and mirrors to play with perspective. Marble floors, lilac velvet sofas and beige silk drapes provide an opulent backdrop for Mrs Prada's ever-innovative women's wear. It's open until February 2010 at Place Beauvau 92. Be sure to visit if you're in town - it's utterly beautiful.
